Woodruff County Food Pantry Board
Serves on Woodruff County Extension Ag Committee
Served as City Council member and still donates to the county
Participated in the 2018 Local Foods, Local Places technical assistance program.
Served on the USDA Specialty Crop Committee in Washington, D.C. for several years. He also served on the Arkansas NRCS Specialty Crop Committee.
Shawn participates in The Next California - The Markets Institute at World Wildlife Fund.
Shawn held farm tours in May of 2024 for the Center for Arkansas Farms and Food along with the University of Arkansas Extension office to advise on weed management, crop fertility, and cultivation. He is a consultant to Delta Conservation for transitioning their ground to organic and regenerative farming, and offers consultations in land negotiations and procurement, organic crop production, certification and distribution, domestic and international marketing portfolios.
Shawn has spoken at numerous conferences and meetings on a variety of topics to help other farms and leaders. He has worked with a professor from the University of Arkansas to do a study plot on corn crops and weeds in sweet potato varieties.
